Guided tour and wine tasting
The palatial home of the Mencos of Tafalla is now open to the public
A ninety-minute tour will allow you to discover the different rooms on the main floor as well as the wine cellar.
In so doing, you will discover a home that sheltered Elisabeth Farnese, Ferdinand VII, Maria Amalia of Saxony or Alfonso XII. The building also served as headquarters for the French Army during the Peninsular War, headquarters for Maria Christina’s army and a Red Cross hospital during the Carlist Wars. More recently, it served as a training academy for under-officers and Civil Guard headquarters during the Spanish Civil War.
Guided tour and wine tasting
Accompanied by a family member, you will tour the living rooms, bedrooms, office and dining room on the main floor for an hour, where the history of the house and the characters who lived in it will be explained. At the end, the family’s wines, sausages and extra virgin olive oil will be tasted in the historic winery.
- It is carried out in small groups of a minimum of 6 people and a maximum of 14.
- The price of the visit is €10/person (children under 3 years old free) and must be made by appointment.
